Centella Asiatica

EXCEPTIONAL BENEFITS OF the Centella Asiatica

Centella Asiatica is a plant that grows in tropical and subtropical regions. Part of the Indian pharmacopoeia, it has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for more than 3,000 years. In particular, it is recognized as having beneficial effects on the treatment of various skin conditions and on the stimulation of micro-circulation

Centella Asiatica, Gotu Kola, is a herbaceous plant from the Umbelliferae family (Hydrocotyle) that grows in India, China, Indonesia and Madagascar, as well as in subtropical regions.

The extracts used in Baume 27 come from Madagascar and are more than 95% purified. The plant that grows naturally and is cultivated on the island contains the most exceptional concentration of active terpene molecules. Scientists are still trying to understand the compositional differences due to the origin of the plant (e.g., land and soil specificities and climate), which is still cultivated and harvested using ancestral methods.

Centella Asiatica is a plant brimming with active ingredients proven over time and by research to be effective.  Historically, both Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine relied on extracts of Centella Asiatica to treat skin conditions such as psoriasis and allergies, and leprosy, but also to improve micro-circulation.

Researchers have demonstrated that Centella Asiatica  heteroside extracts have a beneficial effect on the inflammatory process because they stimulate the synthesis of fibroblasts (dermis) and keratinocytes (epidermis).
